Dr. Jian-Min Yue, an eminent organic chemist and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is currently Professor of SIMM, and Director of the Department of Natural Products, and Deputy Director of the Chinese National Compound Library.

He is actively involved in the isolation, structure determination, total synthesis, and synthetic optimization of Natural Products with the favorite compound classes including terpenoids, alkaloids, and macrolides, and biologically focused on natural products with activities against cancer, immuno-disorders, infectious diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. His research strategy directed by the chemical structures and biogenesis considerations of the natural products, as well as the traditional application of natural resources is aiming to effectively discover unique natural compounds with important biological properties, which in turn is applied to demonstrate the biosynthetic pathways of the related natural compounds and to provide scientific starting points for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
