Selection Background

To implement the spirit of Xi Jinping’s proposal “Push forward the transformation from Made in China to Invented in China, China Speed to China Quality and China Products to China Brands” and Innovation Driven Strategy, according to the Opinions on Playing the Leading Role of Brands to Promote the Upgrade of Supply-side Structural Reform issued by the State Council, brands evaluation system and social awards should play a leading role with credibility and social influence. For those consideration and to facilitate the development of innovative brand culture, establish the image of responsible innovative brand, help pharmaceutical innovative institutions enhance the brand awareness and facilitate the supply-side structural upgrade and transformation of pharmaceutical industry by developing the soft power and added value through innovation, China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association (PhIRDA) has been held the Selection Activities of China Pharmaceutical Innovation (herein after referred to as Selection Activities) since 2015. The Selection Activities, which were highly praised by the public, will take the contribution of pharmaceutical innovation to clinical trial, society and economy fields as the evaluation factors for the first time.

To further deepen and extend the impact of the Selection Activities and create a more authoritative and fairer innovative pharmaceutical selection activities with international influence, PhIRDA and Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) has reached an agreement on establishing the PhIRDA (Suzhou) Foundation for Pharmaceutical Innovation (herein after referred to as the Foundation) and co-hosting the Selection Activities. SIP will provide the following ten years’ financial support for the Foundation and Selection Activities. The official name of the Selection Activities is “Dushu Lake Prize” Selection of China Pharmaceutical Innovation. The Selection Activities are categorized as public welfare and non-profit. All the eligible projects are recommended and reviewed by experts in pharmaceutical industry. The awards category includes Nominees and Winners and the award ceremony will be held in Suzhou.
