Wang Guangji, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, ex-vice president of China Pharmaceutical University, now is the chairman of the Academic Committee of China Pharmaceutical University, the vice chairman of Jiangsu Association of Science and Technology, the director of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Pharmacokinetics, and the director of the Key Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine Compound Pharmacokinetics of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was the 11th and 12th National People's Congress representatives, and also hold several concurrent posts as the chairman of the Applied Pharmacology Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, the chairman of the Pharmaceutical Industry Committee of the Chinese Pharmacological Society, and the chairman of the Jiangsu Pharmacological Society.

Academician Wang is the national leader of the "863" major project—"Key Technology and Platform Research of Preclinical Pharmacokinetics", and established an international advanced preclinical pharmacokinetic technology platform system, which outcome important supports for innovative drug research, development and industrialization in China. He put forward a novel theory and a new model for "cellular pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics research", providing well-informed bioevaluation for drugs and nano-agents, the targets of which located in the cell. He opened up the theoretical methods of multi-component pharmacokinetic research of traditional Chinese medicine, solved an array of key technical problems, and promoted the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine and the related new drug research.

Academician Wang, as the first or the corresponding author, has published 342 SCI papers (citation frequency: 5423 times). He obtained four National Science and Technology Progress Awards (the Second Class) and five Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards (the First Class), and was also awarded the 2012 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award. He is the only academic leader of the Ministry of Education in pharmacokinetic PhD (the only one in the country).
