Zhang Shuyang is the President of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), Vice President, Professor of Cardiology and Doctoral Tutor of Peking Union Medical College, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Ms.Zhang serves as the Member of the council of the World Medical Association(WMA), the Standing Member of the council of the Chinese Medical Association(CMA), Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of Clinical Pharmacy, CMA, the Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of Chinese Society of Cardiology, CMA, President of Rare Diseases Society of Chinese Research Hospital Association. Ms.Zhang masters excellent techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of common, complicated, critical and rare diseases in cardiovascular system and internal medicine. As the principal investigator, Zhang has undertaken and participated in a number of national research projects, and serves as the Chief Expert of ‘Rare Diseases Cohort Research’, a precision medicine project of the ‘13th Five-Year Plan National Key R&D Initiative Project’. Established the clinical information database and biological sample database of rare diseases in China,chairman of NHC rare diseases healthcare security committee. As an interdisciplinary expert in clinical medicine, clinical pharmacology and chronic disease management, Zhang has organized, led and participated in more than 50 international and domestic multi-center drug clinical trials, published more than 150 academic papers, and 12 monographs as chief editor or translator. Ms. Zhang is treated with special national subsidies from the government as one of the young and middle-aged experts who made outstanding contributions to National Health and Family Planning Commission. She was awarded honorary title ‘National Famous Doctors in Excellent Manner’ and ‘Extraordinary Achievement Award’ by Chinese Medical Association. She was awarded honorary title “National Advanced Individual on Fighting the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic” by CPC Central Committee ,the State Council and Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China.
