Dr. Hou graduated from the Second Military Medical University in 1985. In 1993, he obtained his PhD degree from the same school. Now he is the Director and Professor of Department of Hematology, Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. He has focused on myeloma and the related diseases for more than 20 years basically and clinically. He has published more than 200 papers in this field. His current interest is target therapy and immunotherapy for lymphoid malignancies, in particular myeloma. As a PI or local PI, he has be involved in several important and famous phase I to phase III clinical trials such as Pararoma-1, MM021 and Tourmaline-MM1 China continuation study and so on.

Dr. Hou is a member of International Myeloma Working Group. He is active in academic activities and is also the committee members of several national academic societies including a vice-Chairman of Clinical Research Specialty of China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Development Association, the Chairmen of Shanghai Hematology Association, Shanghai Hemo-immunology Society, and peer reviewers for several domestic and international journals.
